didn’t have time to dash down to get the wooden 2,1 numericals for the card, but just as well – simple drawing and cutting, and transposing worked out just as fine, though it didn’t quite have the dimensional character to it.

but it does give me more room for flexibility – colours-wise, though it took up quite some time just to draw and cut the numericals out. and my, this is not for the impatient, i.e. yours truly.

hope you guys liked it!

.

note to self: it’s time to get a paper-cutter real soon! i detest cutting straight lines armed with just a pair of scissors – i don’t bother to draw lines you see. its much too much effort to measure and pencil/pen mark the paper (depending on material) – which means i’d have to remove it later.

i’m such a lazy soul.

.

and it reminds me – i forgot to take a picture of an earlier card i did for a friend’s 21st – it’s in forest green with this absolutely lovely textured paper, with a resemblence of a velvet nature; and a little ‘bling’ and shine with the glittered 21. quite a little card, but nonetheless, one of my favourites. but alas! shall make do with other variations if i can get hold of the materials again.

I have to admit that this card was made a mere few hours ago, on THE day. Goodness. I had actually clean forgotten all about Father’s Day – despite buying a cheesecake just yesterday; and so, here it is!

A simple wedding card for Alex and Joyce; went light on the pinks this time. Afterall, there’s beauty in simplicity.

.

Lovely shade of dusty pink ~ I’ve finally managed to get my hands on this particular shade.

Words were typewritten this time; have to admit that I’m rather lazy to ink them ~ have been wanting to change my style of calligraphy inking but didn’t have the time to select the paint/pen colour and experiment with a few new styles.

But just selection of fonts and the graphics took me quite some time, not withstanding the ardous searching of ‘the perfect’ quote.

Have dug out my felt material left over from my stitching-of-little-bags phase – I realise I do have them in some pretty workable colour. Am rather pleased that the considerable stack of material will soon be put to use in time to come.

One of my favourties! =) Red, gold and the orientals.

With a little matching card-tag, I do so love to make those out of the remaining scrap materials after the card is done. My pink felt material has finally been put to use as a tag-backing. The velvetly feel on the tag is sure lovely!

Recycle, recycle, recycle!

.

Card style’s different this time, with my so-termed ‘korean knot’ inspired from how they tie their hanboks. Realised that I didn’t capture the knot arghhh. But it’s quite simple, shall feature it again some time soon =)

Memory Keepsakes ~

March 20, 2007 at 4:38 pm (21st birthday)

.

.

My first in the Memory Keepsakes series. Have not thought of a name for the collection or the pieces, shall work on it when I’m inspired.

This was rather challenging; I never did thought that the slim box in hot pink was that difficult to work with. I’m quite sad that the silver pink rose-patterned paper looked white in this picture. I guess my photography skills are at best, amateurish. Shall brush up on it soon.

And the lil’ matching bookmark! I love this piece.

.

Tip: Silver imprints, especially those on a light coloured surface (in this example) will not be noticable in normal light; unless you tilt it at an angle so that the silver catches the light. So as first impressions goes; not a good choice really. The silver imprints and the light pink hues are tangible only upon closer examination.

And I’ve realised that I tend to favour the pinks-maroon colour spectrum in most of my cards so I tend to run of the materials pretty fast. But well, most of my craftwork are more ‘girly’, which doesn’t necessarily equates to pink; but the colours are lovely :)

Hours of sheer purple indulgence – from selecting the delightful craft paper with the oriental charm theme; felt material and miscellanous decorative lavender paper; to the rose of a deep violet hue. Hmmm. The rose seems to appear more indigo than violet in the picture though.

Made a lil’ bookmark on a whim; simplicity is lovely.

There concludes my keepsakes-themed 21st birthday cards; in case you didn’t notice, the first was the passionate red.

happy 21st!

March 13, 2007 at 6:15 am (21st birthday)

It isn’t exactly what you’ll term a card – it’s a prettily decorated box :)
.
Am rather proud of this novel idea; a tidy finish the various well wishes from friends written on various craft paper stored in the slim box :)
.
DIY-ed the front design, with patterned paper. It’s a pity that the intricate designs on the paper can’t be seen in this picture, but it’s just the pale pink rose design that I love to use.
.
Most of the materials from Spotlight, namely
1. the square silver box
2. dusty pink paper roses
3. maroon gauze ribbo
4. the wooden numbers: 2, 1,
.
And not forgetting! The lovely silver butterfly sequin on the numerical ‘2′, which has become my signature trademark for all my creations.
.
Wonder why Spotlight at Plaza Singapura is out of so many craft materials. Specially made a trip there to stock up on my rapidly depleting supply of ribbons, but there’s a pathetic few designs left. Made a wasted trip. Now I’ve to source for new stock. *sigh*
